Racism in football is a scourge that is still far from being eradicated. Vinícius Júnior, the star striker of Real Madrid, is frequently the victim of racist acts or remarks coming from the stands, when the Merengues are away. An unacceptable situation which has moved many players in the world of football, and particularly Jude Bellingham. “Vini looked very sad during his press conference yesterday. When he talks about racism, he does it very well. It’s hard to see Vini like that, the Vini I know is always smiling, encouraging, so it’s something that affects me”saddened the former Borussia Dortmund player.
Concerned about the mental health of his teammate who has recently shown himself to be very affected by all these controversies, the Englishman gave him his full support. “He even talked about stopping playing and stopping football… We have to support him when we return to Madrid, make him feel loved” Bellingham concluded in the documentary posted on his YouTube channel. More than supporting those who are victims, the real solution would be to eradicate, once and for all, racism in football stadiums.
