As it stands, Sevilla have no plans to make Hannibal Mejbri’s loan move permanent.
The Manchester United midfielder departed Old Trafford in January in hopes of securing increased game time elsewhere, having only featured for 130 minutes in the Premier League across five appearances – four of which were as a starter.
However, things haven’t gone to plan for Hannibal at all in Seville; he has made three outings for the club thus far and all of them came as a substitute, while totalling a mere 36 minutes on the pitch. He was also benched for the entirety of the matches against Osasuna and Atletico Madrid.
Last time out against Valencia away from home, he made a one-minute cameo off the bench.
Drastic improvement needed if Hannibal wants Sevilla move
Vamos Mi Sevilla claims that unless there’s a ‘radical change’ in the 21-year-old’s situation over the coming months, he will return to Manchester at the end of the season and the Spanish club will overlook the buy clause included in his terms.
It’s then up to Erik ten Hag whether he attempts to retry Hannibal in the senior squad next term or find another potential suitor to take him on.
