Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav recently shared his excitement over the announcement of a sequel to his popular film Main Meri Patni Aur Woh. Known for his memorable roles in both comedy and serious cinema, Rajpal reflected on how this particular movie helped shape his career. He played the lead role in Main Meri Patni Aur Woh (2005) and Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon (2003), both of which were released on October 7 in different years.
In his words, “The best news for me is the sequel to Main Meri Patni Aur Woh. This is very heart-warming news for me. After Main Meri Patni, I started doing everything that came my way. But when I think about the sequel of this film, it seems like I feel like I’m a student again, and this news made me feel like I am back to the way I was twenty years ago. I get all kinds of compliments for this film to this day. It feels very good.”
Rajpal Yadav also shared how the film helped him break away from being typecast as just a comedian. “If it wasn’t for Main Meri Patni Aur Woh, I would probably be just a one-dimension comedian. It is every actor’s dream to play every kind of role. But very few actors are fortunate enough to have that chance. I am thankful for both the projects. They gave me legitimacy as a leading man.”
Aside from the sequel, Rajpal Yadav is set to appear in several upcoming films. His highly anticipated movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will be released soon, followed by Baby John in November during the Christmas season. He is also working on Journey with director Anil Sharma and Palash Muchhal’s Hum Tum Maktoob, with several other projects on the horizon.
