There are a ton of highly anticipated dramas coming to Rakuten Viki! The streaming service has unveiled their slate of programming for the month of November, including several K-dramas, as well as TV shows hailing from Japan and Thailand. From heart-racing romances to crime-solving mysteries to moving tear-jerkers, there’s something for everyone. Plus, there are a bunch of fan-favorite actors set to appear in the shows. You might recognize a few from your most beloved dramas! Find out which TV shows are coming to Rakuten Viki in November 2024… Brewing Love Plot summary: Former special forces member turned liquor salesperson Chae Yong Ju (Kim Se Jeong) is her company’s top seller. But when her company branch is at risk of closing down, Yong Ju is willing to do whatever it takes to keep it open. She decides to recruit Yun Min Ju (Lee Jong Won), an up-and-coming brewmaster, but the task is harder than it looks: Min Ju lives a quiet, rural life, keeping to himself to avoid becoming overstimulated by others’ emotions. Can these two opposites find a way to work together – and will learning how to let each other in lead them to love? Face Me Plot summary: Cha Jeong Woo (Lee Min Ki) is one of the best plastic surgeons in the country. His reputation comes crashing down when a suicide case is linked to his refusal to proceed with a patient’s surgery. To fix his image, Jeong Woo starts working with a new group of patients – victims of violent crimes who need reconstructive surgery. In the process, Jeong Woo crosses paths with homicide detective Lee Min Hyeong (Han Ji Hyun), and while they initially butt heads, they begin to respect each other as Jeong Woo helps Min Hyeong solve crimes. However, during their investigations, an old mystery resurfaces: is there something more behind the incident that cost Jeong Woo’s past lover her life? The Night Owl Plot summary: Acupuncturist Gyeong Su (Ryu Jun Yeol) possesses exceptional skills despite his partial blindness, leading to the royal physician recognizing his talents and bringing him into the palace. His arrival coincides with the return of Crown Prince Sohyeon (Kim Sung Cheol), who is returning to Korea after being held hostage by the Qing dynasty for eight years. While King Injo (Yoo Hae Jin) is pleased by his son’s return, he can’t shake a sense of unease. Unfortunately, his instincts ring true: the Crown Prince is killed, with Gyeong Su as a witness. As Gyeong Su attempts to find out the truth, he uncovers even greater secrets and conspiracies that put his own life in danger, while King Injo descends into madness in despair. Can Gyeong Su bring the truth of the Crown Prince’s death to light, or will he too fall to the greater powers at play? Men of Plastic Plot summary: Aspiring businessman Dae Guk (Ma Dong Seok) was born and raised in Seoul’s super-affluent Apgujeong District, famous for its hundreds of plastic surgery clinics. He senses huge money making potential in the plastic surgery industry, but he has no idea where to begin – until he meets Park Ji Woo (Jung Kyung Ho), Apgujeong’s most gifted plastic surgeon. But there’s a catch – Ji Woo’s medical license was suspended, meaning that he’s no longer allowed to operate on patients. However, Dae Guk doesn’t plan on letting the law stand in his way of becoming the unofficial king of Apgujeong cosmetic surgery. Will his plan come to fruition, or will Ji Woo’s secret be their downfall? Ditto Plot summary: It’s 1999, and Kim Yong (Yeo Jin Goo) has just returned to his junior year of college after completing his military service. One day, he happens to pick up a radio set that puts him in touch with Kim Mu Nee (Cho Yi Hyun), a sociology student at the same university who’s looking for someone to interview for a class. However, despite showing up at the agreed-upon time, they don’t see each other – because Kim Mu Nee lives in 2022! Somehow, the radio set lets them communicate with one another in real-time, despite the massive time gap. Kim Yong and Mu Nee begin to talk to one another about their respective love lives and problems, gradually becoming closer and feeling connected despite the distance. But is there any way they’ll ever be able to meet? Unlucky Ploy Plot summary: “Unlucky” Ploy (Mind Thanidaphat Tinsutthinanon) has lived in the shadow of “Beautiful” Ploy (Green Ausadaporn Siriwattanakul) for years, leading to unwanted comparisons all throughout high school. Although she’s able to find love, Ploy’s bad luck continues even after she graduates, as her fiancé breaks off their engagement. Devastated, Ploy follows a fortune teller’s advice to move to a new neighborhood, where she meets Naii (Yong Armchair), a handsome young man who’s also gone through heartbreak, and who says he’s seen visions of Ploy in the future! Things only get worse when “Beautiful” Ploy comes back into Ploy’s life – and now they’re working at the same company. Is “Unlucky” Ploy’s life about to take a turn for the worse again? Happy Old Year Plot summary: Jean (Aokbab Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying) wants to convert her house into a home office and needs to majorly declutter and reorganize the entire house. But troubles arise when she comes across some items that belonged to Aim, her ex-boyfriend. Although she has no use for the items, each one reminds her of a story that brings back memories, along with unresolved feelings that cannot be easily discarded by just throwing them away. Jean has to decide what to do with Aim’s stuff. Should she just throw everything, keep everything, or return the items to their rightful owner to clear them completely from her house and her heart? Parole Examiner Lee Plot summary: In the drama, Parole Examiner Lee, unfolds the story of the process of a man (Go Soo) who becomes a parole officer for revenge, holding in his hands the enormous power to decide whether prisoners will be paroled or not. Where Does the Sea Begin Plot summary: When and how does one become a “father” and a “mother”? A story of “family” depicted through the “love between parents and children”. Natsu Tsukioka (Ren Meguro) was living a happy life with Mizuki Nagumo, whom he started dating on a whim during his college days. However, she suddenly broke up with him and they parted ways. Seven years later, Natsu was moving on with his life, when he received a call from a friend from college informing him of Mizuki’s death. While attending the funeral, he met a young girl named Umi (Rana Izumiya). Natsu cannot hide his surprise when he finds out that the girl is Mizuki’s child, and that he is Umi’s father. He learns that Mizuki had a child with him without his knowledge and raised it without saying a word, and he thinks about the seven years that Mizuki and Umi spent together. Love Your Enemy Plot summary: Seok Ji Won (Joo Ji Hoon) is the executive director of Seokban Construction and the new chairman of Dokmok High School. He left his hometown and school due to family circumstances, but after returning home in glory as the chairman of a foundation, he crosses paths with his ‘great rival,’ Yoon Ji Won (Jung Yu Mi).. Yoon Ji Won is a physical education teacher at Dokmok High School’s Creative Experience Club who cannot tolerate injustice and finds and corrects bad habits to feel better. As she experiences the ups and downs of life on her way to adulthood, the ‘Mad Dog’ inside her that had been quietly sleeping begins to emerge again when she reunites with Seok Ji Won. My Sassy Princess Plot summary: In this re-imagination of the classic tale, meet the new “Cinderella” (Fatima Dechawaleekul) who doesn’t wait for the Fairy Godmother to make her wishes come true. Even through a difficult life, she always finds the way by herself. She changes her appearance, wears glass slippers and starts chasing for the heart of “The Wealthy Prince.” Even if the glass slippers are tight and pinching her feet, when the goal is money, she will reach it! Shoot Me in the Heart Plot summary: Soo Myung (Yeo Jin Goo) is plagued by schizophrenia that was triggered by his mother’s suicide. After being admitted to a psychiatric hospital, he meets Seung Min (Lee Min Ki), who has been forcibly hospitalized because of his wealthy family’s inheritance fight. Together, fueled by their desire for freedom, the two look to escape.
