It's the end of a long-running soap opera. Downgraded by Luis Enrique in recent months, Randal Kolo Muani knew his future was built on sand at PSG. It was ultimately Juventus Turin which obtained the favors of the French international, convinced by Thiago Motta's speech. In recent days, RKM had already taken part in Juventini training sessions, but was awaiting the formalization of his loan which then depended on a departure from Paris (Juan Bernat was released from his contract, editor's note).
This formalization therefore fell this afternoon, two days before a shock against Naples, which will probably mark his debut in the black and white jersey. In the meantime, the former Nantes striker gave his first interview to the Piedmont club's media: “I'm very happy to be here, proud to wear this jersey and looking forward to playing in front of our fans. There have been many French people who have marked the history of the club, like Zidane. I also liked Trézeguet. More recently, there was Pogba, there was Thuram…”expressed the vice-world champion.
Thiago Motta played an important role in his arrival
During this interview, the 26-year-old striker also spoke about the content of his exchanges with his new coach, Thiago Motta, eager to relaunch him after more than laborious last months in Paris: “we talked for a long time, he explained his philosophy to me in detail and convinced me to sign for Juve. I can't wait to get started now. Regarding my position? I don't have any preferences, just being on the ground. I will play where the coach decides. But if I have to choose, it's the center forward position. This is the role in which I express myself best“, he added.
RKM knows the challenge that awaits him, in a brand new club, but also in a whole new championship renowned for its tactical rigor. “If I know Serie A? It's a very difficult championship, I can't wait to compete. I played here with France against Italy. It was a great match and with a lot of pressure. Now I'm ready and I hope to see the fans at the stadium soon.» If he will not be eligible to participate in the last day of the league phase against Benfica, next Wednesday, in C1, Kolo Muani will however be able to play in the round of 16 (or 8th in the event that Juventus finished in the first 8, editor’s note). He could then cross paths with PSG, the club to which he still belongs.
