Randy Orton heaped praise on Je’Von Evans after their match on NXT.
The 14-time WWE Champion wrestled a rare match on NXT, as the show rolled into his home town of St Louis. He beat the 20-year-old star in their match, but was very impressed by Je’Von Evans’ performance.
In an exclusive interview on Twitter, Randy Orton called Je’Von Evans an “incredible talent”. He said that he is excited to see how he does in the future, praising how much respect he gave to Orton and the business as a whole.
“I got to work with an incredible talent tonight. Only 20 years old! You know him, he’s bouncy. Je’von Evans. I’m very excited to see where he goes in the future. He’s going to be around for as long as he wants to be.”
“We have a lot in common, but there’s a lot of differences. I think he needs to keep doing what he’s doing, but what I noticed after meeting him for the first time today, he’s incredibly humble. He has nothing but respect for the business and guys like me, the old fuddy-duddies who’ve been here for over 20 years.”
“That means a lot to me. That respect for our industry goes a long way. That respect I give back to him, tenfold.”
Randy Orton was interrupted by Sexxy Red
After speaking about Je’Von Evans, Randy Orton was interrupted by Sexxy Red, who appeared on the same episode of NXT.
He began to interview her, where Sexxy Red revealed that she was more nervous performing in a smaller venue. Randy Orton found that interesting, revealing he still gets nervous for every match.
“Its interesting you talk about nerves. No matter how long I’ve been doing this, I still get nervous. I think as a true performer, they always get nervous but learn over time how to turn those nerves to fuel their performance. They go out there and they kill it, just how you were killing it out there.”
