Randy Orton threw out the first pitch in his hometown on Wednesday.

The Viper appeared in St. Louis, Missouri to throw out the first pitch at the Cardinals game. The St. Louis Cardinals beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-2 in the baseball game, although it was Randy Orton’s appearance that has drawn the headlines.

The former WWE Champion threw out the first pitch at Busch Stadium, which delighted his hometown fans. He threw an accurate pitch toward the catcher, all while proudly wearing his “Orton 01” Cardinals jersey.

MLB posted a clip of the WWE legend’s pitch on Twitter, with the caption “RKO [shake hands emoji] MLB. Randy Orton threw out the first pitch at the Cardinals game tonight!

Orton will be live in St. Louis in October, celebrating NXT’s move to The CW Channel. CM Punk will be live in Chicago for NXT’s CW debut on October 1st, with Randy Orton making an appearance a week later on October 8th.

If he does step into the ring, then this will be Randy Orton’s first match in NXT for over a decade. He wrestled Damien Sandow on an episode of NXT in 2013, in which he defeated the former WWE star easily.

Randy Orton’s Story With DIY Is Not Finished Yet

While Randy Orton is busy watching baseball, DIY have been plotting.

The duo have been attempting to hit the Viper with an RKO backstage recently. In addition, they have been filming their attempts and putting them on social media.

DIY took part in a media scrum ahead of WWE SummerSlam in Cleveland, where they were asked about “finishing the story”. However, both Gargano and Ciampa said there’s a lot more story left.

Johnny Gargano: “The story is not finished yet.”

Tommaso Ciampa: “It’s not finished yet. It’s not finished until he is dead. Coming for you, Legend Killer. Coming for you.”
