Palmeiras playmaker Raphael Veiga has expressed his wish to play in Europe for one of his favorite teams, Manchester United.
The 28-year-old has been a vital member of Palmeiras’ starting lineup. He made 60 appearances for the team last season, notching 18 goals and 16 assists.
With four goals in just three games this season, the midfielder has maintained his strong form. In an interview with AS, he has now disclosed his desire to play in Europe.
The seasoned playmaker continued by saying that his favorite team is Man United.
He said: “I have the desire to play in Europe, but I’m also very happy to play for Palmeiras.”
“I think any player has the dream of playing in the Old Continent to compete with the best players in the world, to participate in the big championships.
“Me too, but I am a happy person and if that happens one day it will happen at the right time, and it will be very satisfying, and if it doesn’t happen, I will continue to be happy here.
“I like a lot of teams in Europe. Barcelona, Madrid, City, Arsenal and Manchester United. It’s difficult to say just one. There are impressive teams and they all have something special and interesting.”
Moving ahead, the Red Devils will probably alter their transfer strategy. In recent years, they have added a number of experienced players, but the move hasn’t quite worked out.
Although Raphael Varane had a great start to his career, injuries have hampered him recently. Throughout the current season, Casemiro has had a similar situation.
Additionally, after recovering from an ankle injury last year, Christian Eriksen hasn’t seemed like his best self.
