Barcelona turned up to the Parc des Princes with absolutely no hesitation and full confidence about taking on PSG in the Champions League. And the Catalans did not disappoint.

They scored three past PSG in 90, and while there were some hiccups during the game, especially after the French outfit scored two within five minutes of the second half, Barcelona managed to get back into the game and take the win.

Ronald Araujo, Pau Cubarsi, Ilkay Gundogan, Jules Kounde, and Robert Lewandowski all had wonderful performances, but none better than the Man of the Match Raphinha, who scored two, including the opener and the equaliser as Barcelona won 2-3.

“We knew we were missing something, we had to change something. That’s what we are doing now,” Raphinha said following the win.

The Brazilian has not had a great season, suffering from injuries, shuffling between the bench and the starting lineup, and often going out of form. Tonight, though, he turned up.

“It’s been a difficult season for me. Two injuries, the red card…I recently came back into the team and now I’m trying to get back to my best level.”

When asked whether this was the best performance of his career, Raphinha disagreed optimistically.

“No that is still yet to come, but this was one of my best matches for Barcelona,” he added proudly, holding up his trophy.

The 26-year-old played as a left-winger today, which is, of course, not his ideal role. But despite that, he made the difference, like he did vs Las Palmas after the international break.

“I’m trying to adapt myself to whatever position the manager plays me in.”

Despite giving his absolute best in each game, Raphinha has been linked with a departure of late, with a €100 million offer from Saudi Arabia reportedly on the table.

“I still have years on my contract, and my idea is to fulfill them. I will try to stay here for many years,” he said when asked about his future.
