Raquel Rodriguez finally got answers about the cause of a recent illness, but still needs more time to fully get it under control.
Rodriguez returned to RAW on Monday and won a spot in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match. Prior to this, she had not competed since she faced Nia Jax at a live event on December 3. Rodriguez had been absent from television after being diagnosed with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. She said that the condition kept her from wrestling and appearing on-camera.
MCAS is a condition where a person experiences repeated episodes of severe allergic symptoms like hives, swelling and low blood pressure. During these allergic episodes, high levels of mast cell mediators are released in the body.
Now, Rodriguez has shared an update on her health and said she finally got some answers, but still needs more time to get it under control. Along with her message, she also shared a video showing some of her symptoms.
“The journey is far from over. I finally got some answers as to what caused this but it’s going to be a while til I can get it fully under control,” Rodriguez wrote. “I know one thing. I’m blessed to have an amazing support system. Family, friends, I love you all Keep pushing through the pain!”
