Ruben Amorim has made a total of six changes to his Manchester United starting XI for this evening’s clash at the Emirates.

The Red Devils have made the trip to North London to lock horns with fierce Premier League rivals in an 8.15 pm kick-off.

Fans were expecting some rotation heading into the match, given that Amorim hasn’t shied away from changes in his first three outings in the dugout – and he certainly hasn’t tonight.

Tyrell Malacia makes his first Premier League start since he initially sustained his lengthy injury setback in May 2023, which resulted in him missing the entirety of the 2023/2024 campaign. Noussair Mazraoui, Diogo Dalot and Matthijs de Ligt all expectedly retain their roles, while Harry Maguire comes in after recently returning from his layoff.

Manuel Ugarte has been deployed as a like-for-like replacement for the suspended Kobbie Mainoo, with Bruno Fernandes stepping back into a more reserved role to allow Mason Mount to take his spot further up the pitch.

In attack, Amorim has entrusted Rasmus Hojlund to build on his brace against Bodø/Glimt last week by providing the firepower at centre-forward. Amad Diallo would be right to feel aggrieved that he is missing out, as Alejandro Garnacho has been restored to the frontline in hopes of adding to his eight-goal tally.

As for the hosts, they’re without stalwart centre-half Gabriel Magalhaes and summer signing Riccardo Calafiori, who both miss out through injury. Jakub Kiwior partners the ever-present William Saliba along with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jurrien Timber in front of David Raya.

United’s defensive contingent will be tasked with stifling the prolific Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard, the latter of which is yet to taste defeat since his return to action.
