With a recent one-on-one conversation with former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie demonstrating his resolve to continue on a recent upturn in form, Rasmus Hojlund is going above and beyond to develop.

The 21-year-old, who cost an estimated £72 million to sign with United from Serie A team Atalanta, had not scored in his first 14 Premier League appearances.

However, the prolific Dane has scored seven goals for Erik ten Hag’s team in his previous six games, including a decisive brace in their 2-1 victory against Luton Town on Sunday.

Gary Neville complimented Hojlund for displaying strength, tenacity, and power as he became the youngest player in the Premier League to score in six straight games.

He is finally looking like the striker Man United paid big money to sign. Neville even compared him to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

A recent report from The Mail provides specifics on Hojlund’s receptivity to staff recommendations.

Hojlund was excited to pick the brain of former Dutch international Robin van Persie when he came to the team’s training complex this month to finish a required component of his UEFA Pro Licence. He even asked for a half-hour private conversation with Van Persie.

Rio Ferdinand recently mentioned that after speaking with former teammate Van Persie, Hojlund was prepared to step up his game.

“Robin says he’s asking a lot of questions, the sign of someone who wants to learn, a student,” Rio Ferdinand said on his FIVE YouTube channel.

“It’s nice that humility and humbleness to show. It bodes well for the future of this club.”

Hojlund has shown he can lead the attack for United and prove to be prolific. The young striker is enjoying the form of his life and his turnaround after a difficult start shows his mental strength and character.
