Raven thinks Paul Heyman did his best work in ECW while they were together.
The former ECW Champion was one of the greatest characters in wrestling. Under the watchful eye of Heyman, he became of one of ECW’s biggest stars, with feuds against the likes of Tommy Dreamer and The Sandman pushing the boundaries of professional wrestling.
Raven spoke with Wrestling Shoot Interviews, and was asked about Paul Heyman owing him money. He denied ever not being paid by the former ECW boss, before complimenting the WWE Hall of Famer..
“Paul E treated me well, paid me my money. I love Paul E, you know. I have nothing bad to say about him. At all. I think I did my best work with him. I think he did some of his best work with me. Well, except for the stuff he’s done in the last 10, 20 years. I haven’t seen it, but, you know, up to that point, I think it was some of the best work he’d done. I think he’ll tell you that.
Paul E’s a genius, a wrestling savant. He’s a smart guy. Anyway, he’s a wrestling savant. And, um, yeah, no, I don’t really—I have no—my only bad memories were when I left. He was really upset with that, and he, uh, really wouldn’t talk to me for a couple of years. That bothered me, but, you know, then we got past it.”
