In addition to making solid ground on their pursuit of Nico Williams, Barcelona appear to have also kickstarted the operation to sign another top target in Dani Olmo.

The Catalans have recently tabled their first offer for Olmo, though it was far below RB Leipzig’s expectations and was immediately shot down.

Leipzig in a hurry to offload Dani Olmo

In the aftermath of Barcelona’s first proposal, RB Leipzig are now showing a certain haste in trying to offload Dani Olmo this summer.

According to SPORT, RB Leipzig want Barcelona to speed up negotiations in their bid to sign the Spaniard this summer.

The Portuguese starlet is available in the market, but Leipzig must offload Olmo in order to make a move. Not to mention, they are also facing immense competition from other European giants in the race to sign Conceicao.

Keeping that in mind, Leipzig want to secure the exit of Olmo as soon as possible. But they will only do so if any meet their asking price of €60 million.

Barcelona, for their part, are desperately trying to lower the Spaniard’s price tag as they are also involved in negotiations with Athletic Club over Nico Williams.

Barça are aware that they will have to get close to €60 million in any case. But they are hoping to reach an agreement that will allow them to perhaps pay the amount in comfortable instalments or to have more add-ons included in the deal.

The Catalans are hoping to leverage Leipzig’s urgency and Olmo’s desire to return to Camp Nou, in their bid to lower the cost of the operation. Whether or not they can play their cards right remains to be seen.
