The Racing Club finds its way to victory. This Sunday, for the 19th day of Ligue 1, the Sang et Or won with a score of 2 goals to 0 on the pitch of Toulouse FC.
David Pereira Da Costa and Andy Diouf gave their team the three points. A success which is good for the Lensois who had not won in the league since December 16 and the match against Stade de Reims (2-0).
With this positive result, the Lensois take 9th place and have the same number of points as Olympique de Marseille in 7th.
In the ranks of Toulouse FC, it is a new setback in Ligue 1, the eighth of the season in Ligue 1. The Toulouse residents are in 14th position with a total of 17 points on the clock. Carles Novell Martinez’s men will have to go to the Stade de Reims field the next day.
RC Lens surprises Toulouse just before the break
Deprived of its coach Franck Haise who took his place in the stands due to a suspension, RC Lens aimed to raise its head on the lawn of the Toulouse Stadium. At the end of a generally balanced first act but dominated by the Sang et Or on all levels, Brice Samba’s partners will not appear more dangerous than that.
Nevertheless, the visitors will break the opposing lock just before the break thanks to a goal from David Costa (1-0.42). El Aynaoui finds his partner in the area who will control his ball and place a right-footed shot into the back of the net which passes between the legs of Guillaume Restes.
Lens manages and makes the break
Returning from the locker room and with its lead on the scoreboard, the RCL will manage its opponent and quickly take cover. A few minutes before the hour mark, Andy Diouf found the fault and made the break (2-0, 55th).
The number 18 receives a hazardous ball at the entrance to the area following a corner taken from the left to the right by Pereira Da Costa. The midfielder propelled a magnificent half-volley with his right foot which took the direction of the small net of Remains which cannot intervene.
Despite small alerts in the 60th minute of play on an action by Dönnum, in the 79th with a header from Desler well kept aside by Samba, and a missed penalty by Vincent Sierro at the end of the match (83rd), the Lensois will perfectly contain the Téfécé until the end of the meeting.
