While Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear that he is counting on Vitor Roque for the second half of the season, the club’s sporting director, Manu Fajardo, has acknowledged recent contact with FC Barcelona regarding the striker’s future.
Roque, currently on loan at Betis from the Catalan club, is being pursued by Palmeiras, who are keen to sign him before the Brazilian transfer window closes on Friday, 28 February.
The 19-year-old, for his part, is open to the move having lost some prominence in the team following the arrival of Cucho Fernandez.
when asked whether Vitor Roque would remain at Betis until the end of the season, Fajardo told Movistar (h/t Mundo Deportivo):
“Yesterday, there was a call from FC Barcelona. The relationship between the two clubs is excellent, and as of today, nothing suggests otherwise.”

Fajardo also expressed confidence that the forward would continue at the club, stating:
“Yes, he is a player who has shown, when given the opportunity, that he can perform at a very high level immediately. He has a bright future ahead of him, and hopefully, he can stay with us.”
The Real Betis sporting director also praised Roque’s professionalism amid ongoing speculation about his future.
“The boy has not made any statements. He is very professional and very honest,” Fajardo concluded.
With the transfer deadline in Brazil fast approaching, discussions between Betis, Barcelona, and Palmeiras will be crucial in determining whether Roque remains in La Liga or returns to his home country.
