Real Madrid, a French player on the approach

Faced with the prolonged absences of Dani Carvajal and David Alaba, Real Madrid wants to strengthen its defense this winter. The Madrid club is targeting former French international Espoir Aymeric Laporte, currently a player for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, and winner of Euro 2024 with Spain this summer.

Laporte, 30, has reportedly expressed his desire to return to Europe following a move to Al-Nassr in 2023 for €28 million. Carlo Ancelotti, Real’s coach, supports this option, even if tough negotiations are expected to reduce the estimated price by 25 million euros. The native of Agen knows La Liga well since he trained at Athletic Bilbao.

Alternative options in case of failure with Laporte

If discussions for Laporte fail, Real would have activated other leads, notably Josh Acheampong (Chelsea), Vitor Reis (Palmeiras) and Argentinian Valentin Gomez (Vélez Sarsfield).

With this strategy, Casa Blanca hopes to find a lasting solution to stabilize its defense, weakened by the repeated absences of its holders.
