Despite Real Madrid’s difficult start to the season, the former Madrid player believes the club will win new trophies.
Champion of Spain, winner of the Champions League and the Spanish Super Cup during the previous season, Real Madrid is having a start to the 2024-25 season below expectations. Currently, the Merengue club is in second place in the league standings, nine points behind FC Barcelona, and provisionally occupies 12th position in the C1 League phase, synonymous with play-offs.
However, this situation does not worry certain former members of the Madrid house, such as Karim Benzema. The Al-Ittihad striker, who took the opportunity in an interview with the Spanish TV show “El Chiringuito” to provide valuable advice to
Kylian Mbappéhis former teammate in the French team, was optimistic about the outcome of Real’s season.
“Madrid will win again this season”
“I watch all the matches. Real Madrid have the best players in the world in every position. Madrid will win again this season. At the moment it’s complicated, there’s a lot of pressure, but that’s how it is, it’s Madrid. There is a lot of pressure, but they will calm down, manage it better and get back to winning. (…) A lack of leadership in the team? It’s complicated because they’re all very young, but Madrid always comes back.”declared the 2022 Ballon d’Or.
According to him, Benzema therefore seems convinced that the team led by Carlo Ancelotti will succeed in returning to success. It remains to be seen in which competition the Bernabéu residents will succeed.
