Yet another controversy over refereeing. After Real Madrid’s victory over Betis Sevilla (2-0), with a double from Kylian Mbappé, the performance of the match referee, Alberola Rojas, was strongly questioned. The main criticism came from the official television channel of the Spanish capital club, Real Madrid TV. For the Merengues platform, out of the three possible penalties in the match, the Madrid channel believes that three should have been awarded. And not just the last one as was the case last night.

The club’s channel, quoted by the Spanish daily ASeven describes the referee’s performance as “mediocre and shameful“. RMTV also questioned the inaction of the VAR on possible penalties, believing that it is now necessary to “a miracle and a heroic feat for Real Madrid to win championships” under these conditions.
