Real Madrid: Brahim Diaz continues to delight

At the start of the season, when observers analyzed the Madrid squad, many of them found it a little limited. In the offensive sector at least, especially quantitatively speaking, since Carlo Ancelotti did not have – and still does not have – a lot of elements on the bench. It must be said that if we compare with other European leaders like Manchester City or Bayern Munich, the Italian tactician does not have a lot of spare parts up front.

Brahim Diaz responds

But now that the season is well underway, we can say that Carlo Ancelotti’s rare secondary elements are more than responding. Joselu has already scored 13 goals in all competitions, while Brahim Diaz (24) is also very efficient when he gets his chance. Against Atlético de Madrid on Sunday evening, Carlo Ancelotti made the strong choice to start him up front in the absence of Vinicius Junior.

A paid choice. In addition to scoring the only goal for his team, the former Manchester City and AC Milan player was brilliant. On each catch of the ball, he created danger in the last meters and made some nice technical gestures, displaying all his talent and his extraordinary quality with the ball. He came out twenty minutes from the end, applauded by the Santiago Bernabéu… And this change even earned Carlo Ancelotti some criticism, since many Madrid fans would have liked to see him finish the match.

Spain rubs its hands

“Brahim, a replacement who smells like the holder”can we read in A.S.. The newspaper explains that he was the most differential player up front. “Brahim reversed a situation that was quite unfavorable to him at the start of the summer. His arrival did not seem to generate a lot of enthusiasm within the staff, and everything he plays, he deserved it. He gained confidence and his level improved exponentially. He gives the feeling of being able to be a starter in one of the clubs with the toughest competition in the world”we read in the Madrid newspaper.

Clearly, Brahim Diaz has gone from a player serving to make the number and to rotate in unimportant matches to a player of guarantees, on whom Carlo Ancelotti can rely even against the best opponents. The one who played 18 La Liga matches (10 as starters) is also a serious candidate for a place at Euro 2024 with the Spanish selection, even if Morocco still dreams of convincing him. Brahim Diaz will therefore have to make a choice and inevitably, he will make people unhappy…
