The Galacticos 2.0’s first match in La Liga didn’t convince many people. Held by Mallorca (1-1), away from home, Carlo Ancelotti’s men didn’t shine this Sunday evening. For the Italian coach, this match exposed many of the problems that Real Madrid may encounter this season. “We are not happy, we could have done much better. I don’t want to make excuses, we just had to do better, with a better attitude. We can learn a lot from this match because we saw very clearly where we could have problems.”

After a convincing victory in the European Super Cup against Atalanta (2-0), Real Madrid appeared with a completely different face against the Mallorcans. Despite Rodrygo’s superb opening goal in the first half, the Merengues and Kylian Mbappé first, were not up to the task and delivered a very average performance against the fifteenth in the last Spanish championship. Lack of motivation or a failed performance, Carlo Ancelotti will have to find the words to get his team back on track.
