On Monday, the Swedish press dropped a huge bombshell concerning Kylian Mbappé. Indeed, the Scandinavian media indicated that a sexual assault allegedly took place in the hotel where the Frenchman stayed during his trip to Stockholm last week. In the process, the name of the footballer was mentioned by the complainant, with whom the player nevertheless claims to have had a consensual sexual relationship. While the case is in the hands of justice, the media are increasing the amount of information on this hot topic. In Sweden, Aftondladet And Expressen regularly publish articles on the KM9 file. In France, we are also following his case closely. In Spain, where the 2018 world champion has been playing since this season, the treatment of this matter is a bit different.
Indeed, few papers have been published on the subject. The few articles broadcast mainly served to relay the words of Kylian Mbappé’s lawyer or to take stock of the situation without saying too much. Caution is therefore required on the other side of the Pyrenees, where the influence of Florentino Pérez and Real Madrid is also mentioned to explain the tone with which this affair is treated. Yesterday, our colleagues from RMC Sport also questioned Spanish journalists about their way of working on this issue. Some of them, who testified anonymously, confided: “Real Madrid is our livelihood.” RMC specifies that they do not want to get too wet to avoid any problems with Casa Blanca and its president.
Ancelotti spoke about Mbappé’s condition
Despite everything, we expected that some journalists would dare and ask questions to Carlo Ancelotti this Friday at a press conference. Especially since it was the first time since the start of this dark affair, but also since the controversies linked to the absence of the striker from the Blues, that an official member of Real Madrid was going to speak publicly to express yourself. Thus, the Mister responded began by discussing the condition of his player who has recovered from an injury to his left thigh. “Mbappé took advantage of this break to improve his condition. He is very good and happy, eager to play tomorrow and be important for the team. These 15 days have helped him a lot because now he is a different player than he was before the break (…) Mbappé is close to 100% (physically, editor’s note. It’s a pleasure to see him train .”
He continued on the subject: “at the tactical level, his position does not change. It may vary with Vinicius Jr on the left side, but we focused on physical work. This break was very beneficial for him. Physically, no doubt. Psychologically, the Frenchman faced a media storm between the Blues and his trip to Sweden. Regarding this famous affair, Ancelotti was very clear: “I’m not here to talk about speculation. I focus on work. Like I said, he’s just fine, nothing more.” Raised on the subject, he replied: “I speak with the players every day and I can repeat what I said before. For the moment, what comes out about Mbappé is speculation and I don’t see him affected at all. He’s very excited to help the team.” Finally, regarding his controversial escapade in Sweden, the Italian technician was clear. “Mbappé’s days off were his and I don’t care where the players can rest. He does not need to ask permission from anyone. I went to London for two days and didn’t ask anyone’s permission. I don’t have a travel agency telling players where to go.” As expected, Carlo Ancelotti supported his player on Friday in front of the press.
