It has been a wretched season for Barcelona midfield sensation Pedri as he has struggled with injuries and fitness problems yet again.
The 21-year-old Spanish gem is currently facing his third spell on the sidelines through injury just this season, leading to concerns about his condition, especially with a packed international calendar coming up in the summer.
Dani Carvajal sends message to Pedri
Spain are one of the contenders to win the UEFA Euro 2024 this summer and Pedri is a key cog in Luis de la Fuente’s side.
The 21-year-old is expected to be fit for the Euros, but it is natural for his Spain teammates to be worried about his fitness.
As such, Real Madrid and Spain defender Dani Carvajal has sent out a heartfelt message to Pedri, backing him to recover and make it to the Euros in the summer.
“I want to send Pedri a big hug. I hope he can be at the Euro,” said the Real Madrid veteran in an interview with COPE.
Further backing the youngster to bounce back strongly from the hardships, the Spain right-back added:
“There is light at the end of the tunnel. He’s very young, he’s got a long career ahead of him, I’m sure he’ll come out of it”.
When will Pedri return?
Pedri suffered yet another quadriceps injury earlier this month during the La Liga encounter against Athletic Club.
It was initially feared that the Spaniard might not play again before the end of the season, but things are faring better as far as his recovery is concerned.
In fact, there is hope that Pedri could return in time for the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals second-leg tie against PSG next month.
