For many months now, Vinicius Jr has been the target of racist behavior and insults in every match he plays. The Brazilian international is even the victim of insults in certain matches when he is not even playing. And on social networks, in recent hours, several videos have shown new racist excesses against him during the matches between FC Barcelona and Naples and that of Atlético de Madrid against Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Enough to force Real Madrid to react. In a press release, the Madrid club announced that it had filed a complaint. “Real Madrid CF has filed a complaint with the State Attorney General for crimes of hatred and discrimination, for the racist and hateful insults directed against our player Vinicius Junior near the Montjuic Olympic Stadium and the Madrid Metropolitan Stadium for the FC Barcelona-Naples and Atlético de Madrid-Inter Milan matches, in the Champions League. Real Madrid is asking the public prosecutor’s office and security forces for existing recordings in both locations in order to identify the perpetrators of said racist and hateful insults. Real Madrid condemns these violent discriminatory attacks which have unfortunately taken place on several occasions against our player Vinicius Junior. Our club will continue to work to defend the values of football and sport, and will remain firm in its zero fight in the face of episodes as revolting as those which continue to occur in recent times. Hoping this really shakes things up…
