The 2023-24 edition of the Kylian Mbappé transfer saga could end, as the 24-year-old is reportedly ready to make an imminent decision on his future.
Mbappé is out of contract at Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, which prompted Real Madrid to snap him up as a free player. There is no doubt that the Madrilenians are very keen to sign Mbappé, especially as no transfer fee would have to be paid. However, unlike what happened two years ago, not all the club’s leaders are no longer in favor of the arrival of the captain of the France team.
Leaders turn their backs
According to Sport, several members of the Real Madrid board of directors are opposed to the Bondynois joining the club this summer. Many turned their backs on the PSG striker after he turned down a 2022 transfer, and although the opportunity to sign him returned, they continued to maintain that stance.
At Real Madrid, some believe that the train of signing Mbappé has passed, especially if we consider the players who have arrived since 2022, notably Jude Bellingham. Nonetheless, the club’s position at this stage is that they want it – whether they will get it remains to be seen.
