Where is David Alaba? Victim of a cruciate ligament rupture with Real Madrid, the 32-year-old defender has not played since December 2023. After also missing Euro 2024 with his national team, the Austrian international made his return to the Merengues training center on July 15. Problem, the former defensive rock of Bayern Munich has still not resumed the sessions.

According to SPORTDavid Alaba is considering a return to competition in October while the Madrid club is much more pessimistic about it. While no return date has been specified for the moment, everything indicates on the Madrid side that it will not happen before 2025. In the impasse with Alaba, Real Madrid could therefore move up a gear before the end of the summer transfer window to find him a replacement. Recently, the Mario Gila track has resurfaced in the Spanish press.
