It’s starting to be a lot for Rodrygo. The arrival of Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid, with the desire of the Spanish media to see him shine even if it means forgetting the Brazilian, and his absence from the list of 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or have made the player react since the start of the season, who has not failed to publish messages on Instagram. And he drove the point home with an interview given to ESPN Brazil.

First, to return to the controversy linked to the Ballon d’Or. “I was upset, I think I deserved it. I don’t want to put down the players who are there, but I think I had my place in the 30. It was a surprise… But I can’t do much, I’m not the one who decides these things.”he first explained, before returning to his reaction on social networks. “I made a somewhat mocking post. Now, there is not much to say. Everyone knows my indignation. Everyone supported me, both in the national team and at Real Madrid. People sent me messages.”he assured.

Rodrygo lets loose on his use

His absence from the list of nominees, despite a successful season both collectively and individually, clearly shows a lack of recognition towards the Brazilian. His profile as a collective player, less impactful than Vinicius, is a letdown, and he is well aware of it. “Often I just fill the gap up front. Is there someone missing there? Put Rodrygo in. Is there someone missing on the right? Is there someone missing as a number 9? That’s it. It can bother me a little bit, but I’m a team player.”he explains, with great lucidity.

This does not make him any less indispensable to Real Madrid, quite the contrary, and he has been decisive on many occasions in the successes achieved by the Casa Blanca in recent seasons. And yet, he is the one who seems to be sacrificed on every occasion. This is why his clan has decided to put in place an action plan, to raise Rodrygo’s popularity rating, with a greater media presence. Hence this interview where the 23-year-old player clearly raises his voice.
