By winning at Anoeta against Real Sociedad (1-0), Real Madrid took a further step towards the title of champion of Spain.

The poster smacked of the Champions League. Because Real Sociedad was in the cast this year, of course, but also and above all because the great Real Madrid is preparing a prestigious semi-final against Bayern Munich. HAS a few days before the clash against the German giant, Carlo Ancelotti’s team had to do the job in the lair of Real Sociedad. A trip that is always perilous in a La Liga season.

Unsurprisingly, the Italian technician had chosen to largely reshape his starting lineup in view of his European deadlines. This did not prevent Real from reaping a precious success against a Basque team which remains formidable at home.

Real Madrid ensures

The Merengue found the opening through Güler at the half-hour mark, on a well-adjusted recovery after a movement started by Tchouaméni and relayed by Carvajal (0-1, 29th).

An advantage maintained with experience and intelligence by a Real team sure of its strength, despite the absences at kick-off of Bellingham, Vinicius and even Rodrygo. Thanks to this success, the White House consolidates its lead at the top of the Spanish championship and moves a little closer to a title which seems to have been promised for a long time. Real are provisionally 14 points ahead of Barça, who will host Valencia on Monday evening.
