Real Madrid intends to recruit a central defender this winter

Real Madrid have been severely hit by injuries over the past two seasons, and especially in their back line, with Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, David Alaba and now Dani Carvajal all suffering from long-term injuries. This will push Los Blancos to act on the transfer market.

Journalist Matteo Moretto revealed that Real Madrid are determined to recruit a central defender and have made him a target on the market.

A central defender in January

The uncertainty comes from whether this signing will come during the winter transfer window or if they will wait until the summer of 2025. The Whites could also enter into negotiations for more than one central defender, although this also remains in question. suspense at this early stage.

Real Madrid were trading for Leny Yoro from Manchester United during the summer, and opted not to pursue an alternative after missing out on the teenager. Currently, they have Jesus Vallejo, Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba and Eder Militao in their squad, but the former is out of contract next summer, and Alaba is returning from a serious knee injury.
