Real Madrid haven’t been very good so far this season, and it’s their defensive struggles that are particularly evident.
Carlo Ancelotti continues to use only Antonio Rudiger, Eder Militao and makeshift option Aurelien Tchouameni in central defense, as the wait for David Alaba to return continues.
Despite currently being one of only three natural first-team centre-backs, Jesus Vallejo is not considered. His only minutes this season came against Alaves, in which Real Madrid conceded two goals in a row.
Vallejo completely zapped
Diario AS claim Vallejo is no longer being considered for selection by Ancelotti. In his eyes, the 27-year-old does not have the level required by Real Madrid.
It is almost certain that Vallejo will be in his last season as a Real Madrid player. There is already talk of a central defender being signed in January, but even if that doesn’t happen, it will most certainly be the case next summer.
