Stars and millions. The recipe is simple, but Saudi Arabia has decided to use it to attract a shower of big names since the winter transfer window of 2023. Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Nassr opened the ball. Then, others followed suit during the summer transfer market of 2023 like Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kanté, Roberto Firmino and Riyad Mahrez. A year later, Houssem Aouar, Moussa Diaby, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nacho arrived.

But the Saudi Pro League still wants to get its hands on players playing in Europe. On Friday, we explained to you on our site that Saudi Arabia is courting Kang-in Lee. Indeed, the SPL wants to make him one of the highest paid players in the league to dislodge him from PSG. At the same time, it plans to make an XXL offer to the club in the French capital. But the Parisians are not necessarily ready to part with the South Korean, who feels good in Paris.

Vini is being courted by the SPL

Other players targeted include a certain Vinicius Jr. The Athletic reveals that a delegation from a public investment fund, working on behalf of the Saudi Ministry of Sports, has contacted the 24-year-old Brazilian’s agents. The idea is to convince him to sign in the SPL in order to be one of the faces of the league before the 2034 World Cup, which will be held there.

To achieve this, Saudi Arabia intends to spoil him financially with an XXL proposal. The English media outlet mentions a “lucrative offer“. But Vini Jr and his entourage have so far refused to join the Saudi championship this summer of 2024. The player feels good at Real Madrid, where he wants to win the Ballon d’Or in the merengue jersey. In addition, the residents of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium do not want to sell him. The English publication specifies that the SPL intends to return to the charge in the future.
