Real Madrid were hoping for leniency for Vinicius Junior. Sent off during the clash at Mestalla against Valencia after his altercation with goalkeeper Dimitrievski, the Brazilian striker from Casa Blanca was at great risk. But in the end, the Competition Committee of the Spanish federation decided to impose a two-match suspension on the Auriverde international.

A decision confirmed by A.S. And Marca. The daily newspapers explain that Vinicius Jr escaped a heavier sanction due to the referee’s report who did not qualify the Merengue’s reaction as aggression. Good news for Real Madrid. His number 7 will serve his La Liga suspension matches (against Las Palmas and Valladolid) and will therefore be able to play the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia.
