Bronson Reed has faced a challenging year, missing both Elimination Chamber and WrestleMania 40. Despite these setbacks, he has not let them deter him. This week on RAW, Reed made a statement by destroying Seth Rollins, and the reason behind the assault has now been unveiled.

On the August 5 episode of WWE Raw, Bronson Reed launched a vicious attack on former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. Reed delivered multiple Tsunami splashes, resulting in Rollins being rushed to the hospital as Rollins was coughing blood.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Reed’s recent attack on Rollins was part of an angle to write Rollins off television as he is dealing with some injuries. Similarly, the injury angle involving Dakota Kai on Raw was also designed to address her real-life injury issues.

Meltzer explained that while Rollins is cleared to wrestle, he is banged up, and this storyline allows him to take a break and recover. He noted that although Rollins’ situation is not severe, it was an opportune time for him to step away from the ring. The return date for Rollins is uncertain, and it is unclear if he will be back in time for the upcoming pay-per-view, Bash in Berlin, where he is expected to face Reed.

“Remember on Monday we were talking about Seth and Dakota? It was done for injury reasons…I don’t know how serious. I asked if those were storyline covers for injuries and I was told they both were. Seth is not a bad situation. Seth is cleared, he could wrestle, but he’s banged up so it was a good time for him to take time off and do this. I don’t know if he’ll be back for the pay-per-view [Bash in Berlin] against Bronson Reed.”

Rollins made his return to WWE in late June after being sidelined since WrestleMania 40 due to a torn meniscus. He had been involved in the storyline between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre but now we’ll have to see if he will be able to make it back in time for Bash in Berlin on August 31st.
