Victim of a head impact against Manchester United, Alphonse Areola had to be replaced.

West Ham had a difficult afternoon on Sunday. Traveling to Manchester United, the Hammers lost heavily (3-0).

The meeting was particularly painful for Alphonse Areola, the London goalkeeper. The former Parisian indeed suffered a head shock after contact with his teammate Kurt Zouma and was left having to come out, replaced by Lukasz Fabianski at the break.

Asked after the match, West Ham coach David Moyes nevertheless wanted to be reassuring. “We just wanted to make sure we didn’t make the wrong decision. He’s fine, we just felt there was no need to take a risk with him,” explained the Scottish manager.
