EXCLUSIVE: Never Mind, a new comedy special from renowned comedian, musician, author and actor Reggie Watts, has been set to premiere on the streaming platform Veeps at 5 p.m. PT on Saturday, July 20.

Dubbed a “temporal comedy special” by Watts, Never Mind will be free for Veeps All Access subscribers, but fans can also buy an individual show ticket at the link, with a seven-day rewatch period.

Kevin Garcia directed the new hour, which is described as a step back into a simpler time. Set in the mid-’90s, Watts covers what the future may hold — how instant delivery service is not far away, Y2K, the potential of the internet, The X-Files, Windows 98, and the new Beastie Boys album — all through his original, improvised, musical lens.

Watts, Kara Baker, Benji Madden, Joel Madden, Kyle Heller and Bart Coleman served as exec producers of the special. Check out a trailer above.

Known for his surreal and absurdist humor, and his ability to seamlessly merge music and comedy, Watts has had multiple specials on Netflix and Comedy Central, debuting the most recent, the critically acclaimed Spatial, on Netflix in 2016. Also known for starring opposite Scott Aukerman on the IFC series Comedy Bang! Bang! based on the same-name podcast, and as the bandleader for the former late-night hit, The Late Late Show with James Corden, Watts also previously hosted the American version of Taskmaster, a Comedy Central game show. Recently, he released his new book Great Falls, MT: Fast Time, Post-Punk Weirdos and a Tale of Coming Home Again from Phoebe Robinson’s Tiny Reparations Books (Penguin Random House).

As a solo performer, Watts’ brand of musical/comedy fusion has led to sold-out headlining tours in the U.S. and Europe, including festivals such as Bonnaroo, SXSW, Bumbershoot, Just For Laughs, Pemberton and more. The multi-hyphenate is repped by CAA, Avalon Management, and Schreck Rose Dapello.
