During a recent edition of the Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, former WWE ring announcer Tony Chimel gave an update on his life after leaving WWE. Chimel revealed that his main job is working at Trader Joe’s grocery store while also working for AEW a few days a month. Chimel started working in WWE in 1983 when he began helping set up the ring and eventually became SmackDown announcer. He was released from WWE in November 2020.

Chimel certainly had a run in WWE. Check out his time in the company:

Opinion: It’s always nice to see someone who has moved on from WWE finding something to do and Chimel seems to be in a good place. That is more than some people get to say and hopefully that gets to continue in the future. At the same time, it is great that he is getting to work in AEW, even behind the scenes, as he has quite a bit of expertise and experience in the sport.

What do you think of Chimel’s time in WWE? Who is your favorite ring announcer? Let us know in the comments below.
