Herve Renard has revealed he was approached by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to take over the position of Super Eagles coach.
Renard confirmed he was enticed by the offer dangled before him by the NFF.
The 58-year-old however said he would have accepted the offer but for some little details which didn’t suit him.
“I almost went to Nigeria. I thought about it for a few days, even weeks, before deciding to say no,”Renard said in an interview with L’Equipe.
“It was the best offer I’ve had so far, but the other details didn’t suit me.”
The Frenchman is a popular figure in Africa having won the Africa Cup of Nations titles with Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire in the past.
He has also managed the Angolan and Moroccan national teams.
