Chelsea have announced the signing of Renato Veiga from FC Basel.
The versatile 20-year-old, who is comfortable playing in defence and midfield, has put pen to paper on a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge, including the option of a further year.
Veiga becomes Chelsea’s fifth signing of the summer following deals for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu and Tosin Adarabioyo.
The Portugal international is expected join up with Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad for pre-season training over the coming days.
‘I’m absolutely buzzing to be here,’ Veiga told Chelsea’s official website.
‘This is one of the biggest clubs in England – the biggest for me – and I’m just really excited to get started.’
