Earlier in the day, it was reported that Barcelona star Pedri may soon find offers from abroad if he makes any delay in agreeing a new deal with the club.
This has to do with the fact that the Spaniard has simply been in terrific form this season, his performance against Sevilla further solidified his status as a cornerstone of the team.
In addition to his performances, Pedri has shown exemplary physical attributes. With his third goal in La Liga this season and an outstanding all-around performance, Pedri has played 16 consecutive matches – something that was unthinkable not more than a few months ago.
Barcelona have a pressing concern
However, despite his stellar performances on the pitch, Barcelona have a pressing concern: securing Pedri’s long-term future.
As reported by Diario SPORT, The club are keen to renew the midfielder’s contract before he enters the final 12 months of his current deal, which runs until June 30, 2026.

Both Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco are determined to avoid any last-minute uncertainty.
While the first discussions over Pedri’s renewal have begun, significant progress is yet to be made.
Barcelona, though, are committed to ensuring the talented midfielder remains at the heart of their project for years to come, as they continue their resurgence under Hansi Flick.
The Catalans will be hopeful of making a breakthrough in the coming months. But in order to do that, it will be imperative for the club to return to the 1:1 rule.
To that end, it won’t be surprising to see Barça having to sell some players in January or at the end of the season, as this could greatly reduce the stress on the balance sheets.
