Selected for the French Olympic team, Désiré Doué brought a lot when he came on as substitutes. While that wasn’t enough to win gold against Spain (3-5), the Stade Rennais winger left with the silver medal and will now have to make a decision about his future. Under contract until 2026 with Rennes, the 19-year-old striker is being closely followed by many European clubs, including Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, who offered €60 million to sign him.
In the mixed zone, Désiré Doué assured that he would make a decision about his future very soon: “This month has been very busy, I have had a lot of matches to play, I was focused on that. I have people who work on that for me, who take care of me so that I am released. But the Olympic Games are over. I will have a decision to make about my future, I will make it in a few days”he explained after the final.
