Stade Rennais should continue to strengthen between now and the end of the winter transfer window.

It is with the ambition to raise the bar that Stade Rennais approached this second part of the season. Very active on the transfer market, the Breton club attracted midfielder Azor Matusiwa. Florian Maurice took advantage of the official presentation of the Dutchman to discuss this end of the transfer window.

The sporting director of Stade Rennais thus confirmed that the defensive sector should be further strengthened. An agreement has been reached with Clermont Foot for the signing of Alidu Seidu. But the Ghanaian international, currently at the African Cup of Nations, will not be the only recruit in this sector.

Rennes, the defense has its say

“Things happen inside the locker room, then we actually look, we try to find the best solution that will bring us a real pluslaunched Florian Maurice. Releasing a very good player who fits is complicated, because clubs don’t let them leave in January. Alidu Seidu can also play in the middle, but for the moment he is not there… We have a few options in mind, we are working on them as best as possible, but it is not easy. »

If he concedes that this winter window is “a transfer window of adjustment, not of upheavalFlorian Maurice assumes his ambitions. “Something will perhaps happen over the last ten days, we think we will be able to make one more, or even two recruits. But it will depend on the opportunities, we will not do anything, and we must also be vigilant in relation to the current group, so as not to unbalance the locker room. There is no limit to what we can do, but we need to reflect in order to do coherent things, so that it is not an outburst.. Departures or arrivals, until 1er February midnight, we know, it’s the transfer window, a lot of things can still happen. »
