Lorenz Assignon will continue to shake up the Rennes transfer window. The right-back is being closely followed by Roma, who have even made a verbal loan offer to the Breton club. According to the Sports Gazettethis offer was reportedly refused by Rennes who want a direct sale of their 24-year-old player. Assignon was loaned to Burnley last season and the Rhoazon Park residents do not want to hear about a new loan.

However, the discussions are not over between the Giallorossi and Rennes for the Grasse native. The Romans should return to the charge for Assignon in the coming days with an offer more adapted to the Breton demands. The Franco-Togolese, under contract until 2027 with the Red and Black, was tracked by Olympique de Marseille for a while but his future could finally be written on the side of the Italian capital if the two clubs manage to reach an agreement.
