With only three weeks left before the summer transfer window slams shut, FC Barcelona have a lot of work left to do, particularly with regard to player exits.
A key meeting is set to take place between manager Hansi Flick, director Deco and club president Joan Laporta where decisions regarding departures will be made.
Out-of-favour players like Clement Lenglet and Vitor Roque are certain to leave while at the same time, there may be a few surprise exits. Young players with no place in the first-team setup might leave on loan.
Hector Fort’s loan exit not ruled out
Falling in the third category, according to Toni Juanmarti of SPORT, would be Barcelona teenage full-back Hector Fort.
Indeed, according to the report, the 18-year-old’s departure on loan is not entirely ruled out this summer.
Fort, a La Masia graduate enjoyed his breakthrough campaign under Xavi in 2023/24 and made a notable impact, playing in his natural position at right-back and on the opposite flank as a left-back.
The youngster signed a new contract with the club not long ago and has been tipped for a first-team spot under Flick this season.
However, with Jules Kounde also an option and Joao Cancelo likely to be re-signed, Fort might find minutes to difficult to come by, even more so if the manager opts to use Alex Valle at right-back like he did in the pre-season.
With Fort not keen on playing for Barça Atletic in the third division, a loan move cannot be ruled out, although any decision would depend on a lot of moving parts such as Cancelo’s arrival and Valle’s future.
