Eric Garcia’s absence from Barcelona’s upcoming match against Celta Vigo has added to the growing concerns for the team.

According to a report from MARCA, the defender is yet to recover fully from his injury, making him unavailable for the fixture. This comes as a significant blow to the squad, which is already missing key forward Lamine Yamal.

Garcia has been sidelined due to pubalgia, a condition that has kept him out of action for over a month. Despite returning to group training recently, the defender has not had enough time to regain full match fitness.

Was expected to play

Although he has been working tirelessly to speed up his recovery, the coaching staff has decided not to rush his return. They believe it is best to give him additional time to ensure he can perform at his peak when he re-enters the lineup.

Looking ahead, Garcia is expected to be fit in time for the game against Brest. His recovery progress has been promising, and he is steadily approaching the final stages of rehabilitation.

Similarly, Ferran Torres, who is also on the road to recovery, is likely to be available for the same fixture, providing the team with some much-needed reinforcements.

Barcelona’s defensive options for the Celta Vigo clash will now need careful management. With Garcia unavailable, head coach Hansi Flick will have limited depth.

The timing of Garcia’s absence is particularly challenging, as the team aims to maintain their momentum in the league.

While his loss is a setback, his determination to return stronger bodes well for the team in the long run. Fans can take solace in the fact that his recovery is progressing well, and his presence will undoubtedly boost Barcelona’s defensive depth in the coming weeks.

For now, the focus shifts to managing without him and ensuring the team can deliver a strong performance against Celta Vigo.
