AEW reportedly hopes that Adam Cole will return sooner rather than later.
Cole suffered a severe ankle injury at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2023, and he had to undergo two surgeries. He has been sidelined ever since, but a new report provides an update.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that the word backstage in AEW is that they’re hopeful, and even expecting, that Adam Cole will back sooner than later, and “wheels have been put in motion” to prepare for this on-screen.
Cole was reportedly backstage at AEW All Out, and he was walking around without crutches or a boot. He spent time on the road earlier in 2024, but he was taken off because it was slowing his recovery. Cole was previously set to resume in-ring training in late August.
Sources close to Adam Cole say he was in good spirits when they saw him at All Out.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
