There is much excitement at Barcelona surrounding the launch of the club’s new jersey for the 2024/25 campaign, which will commemorate FCB’s 125th year anniversary.

The designs of the kit are already leaked to the public and its potential all-retro look is known to many, which is why fans are desperately counting the days before the shirt becomes available on the shelves.

Delay in kit launch

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, there will be a slight delay in the launch of Barcelona’s 2024/25 home kit this summer.

The report adds that Barcelona may have to postpone the launch of the new kit until the end of July.

This is quite a significant delay considering the fact that Barça had launched last season’s home kit by June 15. Barcelona fans, therefore, may have to wait more than a month in order to get their hands on the new kit.

Why the delay?

Barcelona, though, have a valid reason for holding back the launch of the new kit. It appears the club want to finalise and announce the new deal with Nike before they release the new kits.

As reported in the past, Barcelona are in talks with Nike over a new shirt deal that could prove to be one of the most lucrative kit sponsorship deals in Europe.

The foundations of the contract are laid between the two parties. Barcelona are now merely awaiting the final agreement, which will allow the club to release the kits to the public.

It must be noted that a new deal with Nike could mean much more than just a kit launch, as far as Barcelona are concerned.

The sheer numbers involved in the deal could go a long way in aiding the club’s finances and potentially helping them come out of the economic woes. The coming weeks, therefore, could prove to be very important for the Blaugrana.
