Andrade El Idolo is reportedly set to return to WWE after he finished up with AEW.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that Andrade El Idolo has an agreement with WWE. Regarding his AEW exit, Sapp writes that his original deal was for two years, but it was extended due to injury. Sapp cites AEW talent who noted that Andrade was open about how his deal was coming up. Some talent stated that he indicated his plans to stay with AEW, but by the end of his run, he told others that he was returning to WWE.

The report also notes that several in AEW thought he would appear on WWE programming the week following his departure. Though Tony Khan said he would be open to Andrade returning, sources that worked near Andrade said that it was a “frustrating process”, and he had made it clear he would be finishing up.

Additionally, Sapp writes that Charlotte Flair pushed for an Andrade return to WWE. While WWE sources have not officially confirmed that it is happening, others said that he was likely coming back.

Andrade previously requested his release from WWE in 2021. He made his AEW debut in June that same year.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
