TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace competed in the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble. In doing so, she became the second reigning Knockouts Champion to compete in the match after Mickie James did so in 2022.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Grace’s involvement in the battle royal was an “overture” WWE made to TNA. Johnson cites one WWE source who expressed their belief that it was Triple H’s idea.
The report notes that the deal came together really quickly. It was seen as a way to surprise everyone with an “outside-the-box” idea. Johnson also writes that there were no TNA officials backstage at WWE Royal Rumble.
Grace has teased more crossover between WWE and TNA, but Johnson states that there is no word of any definitive plans. He writes that she “blew a lot of people in WWE away” with her performance on Saturday.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
