A new report provides an update on Penta’s WWE debut.
Penta (Penta El Zero Miedo) debuted on the January 13th episode of WWE RAW. As widely expected, he was revealed as Chad Gable’s opponent, and he scored the win against the American Made member. He also cut a post-match promo.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Penta went “way longer” than he was initially planned to go, so time was trimmed from other segments later in the show. Per Johnson, some talents were “not thrilled” about time being trimmed.
Johnson also notes that management was happy with Penta’s debut and the reaction that he got from the crowd. He also states that sources say that WWE was internally happy with Penta’s early merch numbers as well. WWE started selling Penta’s merch on WWE Shop hours before he even debuted Monday night on RAW.
