A new report shines a light on a talent meeting that TNA Wrestling held over the weekend.

On February 7, Anthem announced that Scott D’Amore’s contract had been terminated, and Anthony Cicione was appointed as the new President of TNA Wrestling. The move reportedly upset many members of the roster, as D’Amore was well-liked.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that TNA held a talent meeting that was attended by some of the new bosses, including ones that talent will answer to following D’Amore’s departure. It was said that some of the talent spoke with higher-ups individually, too.

Per Sapp, the general feeling was that no one wanted to abandon the hard work the roster had collectively done, even with some disagreement about the decision to replace D’Amore. The report notes that one top name was looking to leave the company. However, they opted to “ride it out” following the tapings over the weekend and the talent meeting.

Additionally, Sapp writes that the new higher-ups were open to feedback, and the meeting helped some wrestlers get excited about the path forward. Furthermore, D’Amore is not expected to return, even though many wrestlers hope that it will happen.

TNA talent previously wrote a letter to Anthem and voiced their frustration following Scott D’Amore’s exit. More information is available here.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
